Shockwave Therapy For Peyronie's Disease
In North East London / Essex
Peyronie's disease, colloquially known as penile curvature syndrome, is a connective tissue disorder affecting the penis. Characterised by the development of fibrous scar tissue within the erectile tissues of the penis, this condition leads to the formation of plaques or nodules. Consequently, the affected areas become less elastic, resulting in an abnormal curvature of the penis during erections. Peyronie's disease can cause discomfort, pain, and, in some cases, challenges with sexual function.

Focused shockwave therapy is emerging as a promising intervention for Peyronie's disease, offering a targeted non invasive approach. The treatment involves the application of low-intensity shockwaves precisely to the affected areas of the penis exhibiting fibrous plaques or nodules.

The focused shockwaves stimulate cellular activity and promote the release of growth factors, fostering a regenerative response in the afflicted tissue. This, in turn, can lead to the breakdown of fibrous scar tissue, potentially reducing the curvature associated with Peyronie's disease. Additionally, the therapy may enhance blood flow and promote tissue healing, addressing discomfort and optimizing erectile function.

Our professionally trained healthcare specialist administers the treatment, tailoring the number and intensity of shockwave sessions based on the severity of the condition and individual response.
